In order to measure a patient’s progress during rehabilitation, it is necessary to use a standard rating scale. The scale most frequently used is the FIM (Functional Independence Measure). The patient’s levels of independence in (18) areas are measured and that data is used to analyze the outcomes of the rehabilitation program.
