The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provide comprehensive treatment for adults (18 and over). Programming delivers comprehensive treatment to address each individual's primary symptoms and problems. IOP/PHP are dedicated to helping individuals to develop healthier coping strategies and build a recovery support network. It is our belief at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center that as recovery and life coexist, a program should allow a participant to continue to work, attend school, and tend to the duties of daily life. Clients have the opportunity to exercise their new skills in life while with continued support and accountability of their treatment.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Team

Staff at IOP and PHP assists clients to determine their own individualized treatment plan to address their goals to prepare them for a successful transition to less frequent outpatient counseling. This will include integration back to all their responsibilities, demands and future goals which may consist of family life, work, and their community. The program is designed for clients who will benefit from comprehensive and interdisciplinary treatment; this is a significant factor towards continuity of care. Treatment provided at IOP/PHP is to maintain each client's sense of wellbeing and further stabilization of their conditions.

IOP/PHP provides treatment by staff which include Board Certified Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors; as well as Master Level Interns. Services provided are adjusted to facilitate client growth through support and guidance while working collaboratively with outside support which may include current treating providers in the community.

Goals of Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

In order for a patient to get the most benefit from the Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, it is important to establish appropriate admission and exclusionary criteria. Both IOP and PHP are appropriate for patients with mental illness that require a structured program of therapy for multiple hours and days per week to attain specific treatment goals. All referrals will be assessed for appropriateness of admission to the IOP and PHP. The following inclusion/exclusion criteria will be utilized:
