Our New and Improved Facility
The Rehabilitation Institute of Northwest Florida is located in a newly remodeled facility offering patients private rooms, larger areas for rehabilitation, and an upscale dining area. The Rehabilitation Institute of NW Florida started a new expansion in October 2017 and includes adding 10 new private inpatient rooms; four equipped for bariatric patients, an expanded physical therapy gym, new landscaping, and an outdoor therapy garden that will foster the patient's ability to interact with nature while working on functional activities in a safe environment.
Because of the complex needs of our patients, our unit is under the direction of a full time Physician Medical Director who rounds on patients daily. Registered Nurses who specialize in rehabilitation provide 24 hour care. Our seven day per week therapy program provides each patient a minimum of three hours of personalized therapy five out of seven days. We offer new hope for individuals facing the challenges of:
- Hip Fractures
- Major Multiple Trauma
- Neurological Disorders
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Brain Injury
- Joint Replacement (over age 85, Body Mass Index (BMI) ?50, or Bilateral Replacements)
Functional Disabilities Treated
Our rehabilitation team has the training and experience to treat patients with one or more of the following disabilities:
- Limitations in self-care
- Impaired mobility, balance and coordination
- Limitation in strength and range of motion
- Cognitive and perceptual deficits
