Nebbie E Walford, MD

General Surgery
Dr. Beth Walford was born and raised in South Georgia. She went to college at the University of Georgia, and is an avid UGA football fan. She attended medical school at Mercer University and did her residency in Savannah, Georgia. She completed her fellowship in pediatric surgery at the University of Oklahoma. She is board certified in both general surgery and pediatric surgery, and she is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Walford spent seven years at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, where she practiced pediatric general and trauma surgery. She was the co-director of the neonatal ICU surgical service, and the medical director of the Suncoast Safe Kids Coalition for pediatric injury prevention. Dr. Walford's surgical interests include neonatal congenital abnormalities, thoracic surgery including pectus excavatum repair, laparoscopy, and injury treatment and prevention. She has co-authored several articles on the treatment of pediatric appendicitis, trauma triage and transport, and pediatric hernias. When not in the hospital, she enjoys outdoor activities, being on or near the water, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
