The CCU team at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center is committed to providing the best medical care possible to our patients. This unit specializes in the treatment of patients with medical or surgical problems. The most common patients seen in the CCU are those with the following medical conditions:
- Acute Coronary Syndrome
- Chest Pain
- Heart Failure
- Poisoning/Toxic Effects on Drugs
- Carotid Endarterectomies
- Spinal Fusions
- Recovery from neurological, cardiac and vascular surgery
- Trauma Care
- Acute Stroke Care
- Acute Respiratory Care
- Renal failure
- Metabolic Syndrome
Patient Care Areas:
- 6-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU)
- 9 bed coronary care unit
- 13-bed medical/surgical intensive care unit
The CCU team at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center understands that the admission of a family member or a friend to the Critical Care Units can be fearful. We understand your concerns and know that it is important for your presence, as well as the expertise of our medical staff, to help ensure your loved one is on the road to recovery.
CVICU is located in the main hospital on the 1st floor.
CCU/ICU is located in the main hospital on the 2nd floor.
