Our New and Improved Facility

The Rehabilitation Institute of Northwest Florida moved into its new building in June 2011. The newly remodeled facility offers patients private rooms, larger areas for rehabilitation, and an upscale dining area.

Program Features

Because of the complex needs of our patients, our unit is under the direction of a full time Physician Medical Director who rounds on patients daily. Registered Nurses who specialize in rehabilitation provide 24 hour care. Our seven day per week therapy program provides each patient a minimum of three hours of personalized therapy five out of seven days. We offer new hope for individuals facing the challenges of:

• Stroke
• Hip Fractures
• Amputation
• Major Multiple Trauma
• Neurological Disorders
• Spinal Cord Injury
• Brain Injury
• Joint Replacement (over age 85, Body Mass Index (BMI) ≥50, or Bilateral Replacements)

Functional Disabilities Treated

Our rehabilitation team has the training and experience to treat patients with one or more of the following disabilities:

• Limitations in self-care
• Impaired mobility, balance and coordination
• Limitation in strength and range of motion
• Cognitive and perceptual deficits
• Our team of experienced rehabilitation specialists work closely with the patient and family. Our team consists of licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, registered nurses, and patient care technicians. Patients receive proactive, round-the-clock care -- including daily physician rounding -- with the primary goal of regaining independence.Speech and communication problems
