Please note this course should be completed 4-6 weeks before the baby’s due date. Please call Fort Walton Beach Medical Center’s Consult-a-Nurse by the 4th month of pregnancy to register for a Prepared Childbirth Class (850) 864-0213 or (888) 616-6291.
Our courses are taught by nurses with L&D experience. The series is fun and perfect for all types of learners. Moms are encouraged to bring one adult coach with them to this course. This program covers:
- Having a healthy pregnancy, including nutrition and exercise during pregnancy.
- Recognizing the warning signs of labor and when to call the doctor.
- All stages of labor and delivery, along with possible variations of each.
- Relaxation and breathing techniques during labor. What happens if you need a Cesarean Section.
- Breastfeeding and baby care.
- Postpartum concerns.
A $49.95 fee is due at least one week prior to the class.
